Digital Advertiser


Veracity Media is a progressive digital strategy and political consulting firm based in Washington D.C. We're working on dozens of Congressional campaigns, Statewide races, as well as down-ballot contests all across the country, and we need a Digital Advertiser to implement and manage digital advertising campaigns across our clients. This includes display/retargeting, video, mobile, SEM, email marketing, and Facebook advertising. You'll be helping our team develop the strategy that underpins digital engagement, advocacy, and/or fundraising programs. 

 

We’re a team dedicated to electing Democratic candidates and pushing forward progressive causes. So! What You’ll Do: 

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in digital ad operations for both clients and internal teams, keeping up to date with relevant news and trends.
  • Participate in internal and external messaging and strategy meetings.
  • Draft compelling copy to inspire action and drive donations.
  • Provide guidance to graphic designer and client teams on effective creative.   
  • Compile analytics and reports for clients.
  • Evaluate new technologies.
  • Place and monitor media buys – and making adjustments as necessary to optimize results. 
  • Evaluate digital advertising performance – produce detailed reports on campaigns. 
  • Consistently use findings to inform best practices.

 

Requirements: 

  • 1-3 years of digital advertising experience; background in digital advertising campaign management (Google Display Network, Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, etc.). 
  • Experience with marketing pixels/tags, tracking vs conversion pixels.
  • Experience building, analyzing and optimizing programmatic campaigns.
  • Experience managing spend rates, bidding, and overall budgets across platforms.
  • Basic understanding of code (CSS, html5, etc)
  • Strong communication skills -- comfortable pitching ideas & concepts to senior staff and clients.
  • Ability to work independently but also in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment. 

 

Helpful:

  • Experience working/volunteering on campaigns is desired but not required.
  • Experience with branding, positioning, and message development is a plus.

Copywriter


If you are passionate about politics and advocacy, have a solid digital skill-set, are a strong team player, and believe you have what it takes to craft content for several of our amazing clients with a focus on raising money and engaging the supporters they need to win, then this is the position for you.

Job Responsibilities

  • Daily drafting of fundraising and non-fundraising blast email content
  • Occasional drafting of ad copy and content for Facebook ads and more
  • Writing and presenting different options and variations to client leads and senior staff
  • Modifying copy until the client and leads are satisfied
  • Overseeing the production phase as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, on short deadlines
  • Ability to manage several projects at once, from assignment to delivery, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think creatively under pressure
  • Ability to understand clients’ messages and translate them into compelling content
  • Ability to identify compelling imagery for clients' messages
  • Competence conducting research to assist in crafting accurate copy

Digital Strategy Assistant Internship


We’re looking for several politically and technically savvy interns who are interested in digital media, communications, political advocacy and online organizing. At Veracity, you’ll gain first hand experience consulting for U.S. House and Senate campaigns as well as smaller, local races, plus non-profit advocacy organizations of all kinds.

If you like writing, spend too much time on social media, and are passionate about politics and advocacy, then this internship is for you. We’re looking for outgoing, creative individuals with strong writing and researching skills who like to work in teams but can also take initiative and work independently. Technical skill sets such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Photoshop, Google Adwords/Analytics, GIS, or data analysis are a plus.

Intern responsibilities include:

  • Content drafting for clients - writing emails, Facebook posts, tweets, blog posts and other website content for clients

Interns will work out of Veracity’s co-working space in Washington, DC. How many months your internship lasts and the hours you keep can be discussed, although once committed we’ll ask interns to keep a regular schedule. Some work-from-home hours are an option. A monthly stipend is available for candidates interested in working 20 hours a week or more.

Graphic Designer


If designing stuff, from logos to websites, is your passion; if you are interested in working at a start-up firm whose team members’ mission and purpose extend beyond the work immediately in front of them, then this is the job for you!

On an average day, you might be working on eye-catching social media graphics primed to go viral, or taking a client’s vision and translating it into a mock-up of their future website, or designing the logo for a Red-to-Blue Congressional race.

This position is great for entry level designers with a strong portfolio of work to show off, or experienced creators who are interested in developing their skills in multiple areas. Either way, apply!

Front-end Developer


If you get excited by coding great websites, apps, or tools; if you like hacking up fixes to things that should work and using APIs to do cool things; if you are interested in working at a small start-up firm whose team members' mission and purpose extends beyond the work immediately in front of them, then this is the job for you!

On an average day, you might be taking a design mockup and coding it into a dynamic, mobile-responsive website or building a Twitter widget so supporters of a campaign can tweet at legislators. If you like coding websites and apps, we want to interview you!

You'll be running innovative email, social and advertising campaigns, and working on cutting-edge websites and web tools like NGP, ActBlue, BSD, and others.

The following list of skills and experiences are all valuable to the position. None are required, but these are all skills our strategists bring to the table:

Helpful Experience:

  • 2 cycle or more of digital experience with a campaign, state party, or committee
  • 2 cycles or more of experience with a digital fundraising firm
  • 2+ years of combined communications and fundraising experience at a labor union, PAC, advocacy organization, or agency that works with political/advocacy clients.

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent writing ability
  • Experience writing in the voices of high-profile candidates or causes
  • Management of large/influential social media accounts
  • Project management and client delivery experience
  • Website project management (non-technical)
